He likes to say he's been detailing since before he could spell it.
It started the way these things do: a garden hose, a stockpot of suds, and the family SUV in the backyard. The grin was the same then as it is now when a finish finally reads like glass. Some people find the thing they love early. Sam just never let go of it.
Growing up in Pinewood, Sam was the kid drawn to anything with an engine. That pull never faded. It turned into weekends chasing NASCAR, hours studying the cars most people only ever see in a magazine, and a genuine, patient obsession with making a vehicle look its absolute best.
Somewhere in there, the hobby became a craft. He learned the difference between a quick polish and a true two-stage correction, which ceramics actually last and which ones quit after six months, and that the work always shows up on the panel, never in the talk. The standard did not come from a manual. It came from caring more about the result than the shortcut.
From NASCAR weekends to the Petersen vault. The love of cars came first. The business came from it.
